A while back, a bill was proposed here in Colorado that would have allowed people who have terminal illnesses to elect for euthanasia. The bill did not pass.
Do you think this is moral? What stipulations do you think should be placed on euthanasia?
My grandmother had Azheimer's disease. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. It is a terrible disease, and in the end stage, people cannot even remember how to feed themselves or talk coherently. It is heartbreaking to watch anyone go through this, and I would never want to live through this. There is simply no quality of life in the end.
I think in situations like this, euthanasia is moral. We do not allow our pets to suffer when there is nothing more that we can do for them, so why do we allow our fellow humans to suffer when there's nothing more that can be done for them?
